Cultivation of a biological material or its propagation in a substrate under semi natural condition is known as culture. Verms, a Greek word stands for any cylindrical elongated limbless animal, which has the general tendency to crawl or burrow. In this context verms/vermi refer to earthworms and vermiculture is propagation of earthworms producing a byproduct called vermicompost and this process of producing vermicompost is called vermicomposting.
